BBI: Russian billionaires gain $5.5 bln in January–October
MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- The combined fortune of Russia’s 24 billionaires increased by U.S. $5.544 billion in January–October, Bloomberg said in a report accompanying its Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) released on Thursday.
The index is calculated basing on capitalization and financial reports of companies owned by the businessmen, or on a ratio between capitalization and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) or a ratio between a share price and earnings per share.
CEO of independent gas producer Novatek Leonid Mikhelson was again number one with a $20 billion wealth, which has grown by $3.33 billion since the year start.
Alexei Mordashov, the majority shareholder of steelmaker Severstal, climbed to the second position with $19.4 billion, down by $325 million.
The fortune of Vladimir Lisin, the major beneficiary of steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), rose by $1.19 billion to $19.2 billion as of the end of October.
